June 22, 2012: On Monday, June 18th, Judge John Z. Lee entered an order allowing full discovery to commence in our federal lawsuit against the City of Naperville over the forced installation of smart meters on our homes.
Discovery is a crucial pre-trial phase of any lawsuit allowing both sides to gather facts and evidence surrounding the case.
This is an important step forward and we will take full advantage of this opportunity to further solidify our position that Naperville utility customers should have the right to determine which technology is appropriate for their families.
Following are the dates set by Judge Lee for discovery:
- “Status hearing set for 8/16/2012 at 9:15 a.m.”
- “Rule 26(a)(1) and written discovery requests are to be exchanged by 7/6/2012.”
- “Fact discovery deadline is 11/30/2012.”
- “Expert discovery to close 1/15/2013.”
